Is there a reason for my massive playback performance issues when using the network?
Howdy all,
First off - Great product! I love the add-ons, ideas, and community feel behind it.
However, I am experiencing really bad jitter / lag during playback (on local files)
I seems to occur when accessing the network.
Either local or internet - can be downloading email / browsing the web / ftp'ing files / or ssh'ing into somewhere... doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing - just that it's network related.
As of 2009-09-08:
* I'm running Vista SP2.
* I'm using Songbird 1.2.0 as far as i can tell (it tells me there is no new updates)
* I've installed quite a few plugins. (all of which are also up to date)
Anyone got any ideas?

Inappropriate?G'day, just wondering if it happens in other applications too. In the earlier versions of vistas many people had sound skipping issues (it was related to 802.11n drivers for many apparently). But I dont recall having such issues in SP2 (except maybe when I had my X-fi)

Inappropriate?No I'm afraid... VLC / Mplayer / even windows media player and itunes - all work fine.
Also - This is a desktop PC with wired networking only. -
Inappropriate?I think I've just resolved the issues... seems it was all MY fault :(
I'm using Comodo Firewall - and the Songbird DLLs etc were untrusted.
Now that they are not being sandboxed (or whatever it is that Comodo does) - I have no playback issues anymore.
Thanks for the response though - most appreciated.
I’m relieved
