Is there any chance soundcheck gets included when transfering titles to the ipod?
I know there is being worked on the replaygain issue, but is it also possible to add soundcheck (the apple marketing blah blah for volume normalisation) support for the ipod plugin? Because I got used to the normalisation feature on winamp and won't miss it on songbird (which is better IMHO) :-)

Inappropriate?"Phase 1 is to use replaygain metadata (including from the itunes-specific format, which we'll need to convert) when it already exists in files."

No, you've got me wrong, the ipod has the ability to perform volume normalisation, this is also called "soundcheck" by apple. The ipod plugin for winamp "ml_ipod" and the ipod plugin for foobar2k have the ability to convert replaygain tags to soundcheck tags that are readable by the ipod. And because I like this feature I'd like to see it in Songbird.
AFAIK the "ml_ipod" is released under the terms of the GPL, so it should be possible to adapt the relevant code.
