iTunes' Album Rating being imported as Track Rating
Hi all,
I'm trying to rid my life of iTunes.
I asked Songbird to import my iTunes library, which it mostly worked. However, I discovered that Songbird was reading the horribly-broken Album Ratings from iTunes, and applying it as the track rating!
If you haven't experienced it before, iTunes tries to automatically calculate the Album Rating off the average track rating for the songs in the album. However, it's HORRIBLY buggy. I can't turn it off, and if you try to clear the Album Rating it immediately reapplies it. Its so bad that only some tracks from an album have the album rating, and I even have a few tracks that have an album rating when I didn't rate any of the songs in the album. I have no use for Album Rating, so I certainly don't want them polluting the track rating.
Anyways, is there any setting or hack that I can do to Songbird to prevent it from using the Album Rating from iTunes? Digging through the iTunes XML library yielding two related keys that are only on some of my songs, <key>Album Rating</key> and <key>Album Rating Computed</key>.
I was also thinking of building a Perl script (or a little gvim magic) to rip out those associated keys. Would Songbird be able to set everything back to normal if I did that?
