Izotope Ozone DSP Plugin for Songbird?
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the Izotope Ozone DSP plugin from winamp work for songbird? It really makes a big difference in sound quality and is the last thing that is holding me back from switching completely to songbird.

Inappropriate?G'day, The plugin architecture's between winamp and Songbird are completely different (for starters, Winamp's isn't cross platform), so I'd be doubtful if it was possible
Sorry. You could however speak to the company who manufacturers its though to see if they want to port it to songbird.
Another alternative is if they offered something that hooked directly into the windows sound system directly and applied the effects on a system-wide scale (on vista, this is potentially possible per application I'd imagine).
Or they could port the Winamp plugin infrastructure to Songbird. This would be a nightmare though.
If you need this plugin though, unfortunately, it sounds as though your options are limited :(

Inappropriate? Thanks a lot for the response. I really appreciate it. Ozone is definitely my favorite DSP, but I really prefer supporting the open development of songbird over winamp. Do you (or anyone) know if any DSP plugins are in the works for songbird? I have seen some older threads suggesting that there was not anything, as far as signal processing capabilities, in the works.
Thanks again.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?G'day,
Haven't really heard of anything (but then, plenty of plugins may in fact be in development).
There may be a few reasons though:
1) Songbird has only been popular, and stable for a short time. Its incredible how quickly it is taking off, but because of this, developers are still seeing what they can do. Like it has only been recently that a good online store was added.
2) Not sure if the API's required are in place yet (an official rep could probably enlighten us). EQ and such is just around the corner though
3) Songbird is a very quickly moving target still, and developers are having trouble keeping up. Also, the documentation is nice, but its not awesome. Being the first developer to do something is always a painful task.
4) I'd imagine that its a "per OS" thing. Not sure how easy it would be to do something like that in a cross platform way.
That being said, CDripping and Transcoding are on their way, and I personally believe that they will greatly increase the audience who are attracted to Songbird. As commercial companies are attracted by popular applications, the side effect will be more commerical development, which will boost free development.

Inappropriate?I don't need ozone dsp particularly (in fact I'm a bigger fan of breakaway which is a windows-wide dsp), but it would be nice to have a similar "radio processing" DSP built into SongBird or as a plugin. Any leads appreciated!
I’m hopeful
