Keep It Light (in terms of resources) using add-ons
Please lets not go down the route of mozilla firefox (became big and bloated in version 2), or thunderbird (heading that way) and how seamonkey ended up (even bigger and bloated).
Give Songbird the basic features (the things that everyone needs), do not stuff it full of features that only half (or however many) want. Let them build their own songbirds (through add-ons). Then we can have a small program that loads quickly with all the features that we want, not the rest of the population (of songbird users). This only applies if the add-ons are not crapply (not a real word by the way) written, like most that exist for firefox.
I think this is better than, than having a slow program, with the features that the entire population doesn ́t want, (well not all of them)

Inappropriate? That's what we do in nightly builds:
http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Develope...
You can use those if you prefer light builds with no add-ons.
Final builds are loaded with most needed/popular add-ons.
After all, you can disable or uninstall any/all of them.
