Inappropriate?The Last.fm add-on is bundled to the latest 0.7.0rc builds.
For now, author tries to keep simplicity along with a good variety of functions.
I'm sure, he will follow up here with more information.

Inappropriate?It's true that last.fm heavy integration would be great (in an add-on, of course, everybody's not using last.fm). There are many last.fm users and they would jump on songbird if it was the most adapted player for it.
As songbird is also a web browser, there aren't so many fonctionnality to add. For example for artist search, you can already add the last fm search engine to the search bar of songbird. For your profile page, you can browse it in songbird and if you bookmark it you can go their with a simple click. As it's also a web browser, I think songbird's already the best app for last.fm (well the best app for everything including songbird, great work).
Anyway, there are a few thing which could be added to be the last.fm ultimate app :
A button to tag songs
Link to artist/album/song page when you click on it in the library
Artist page in a service pane
All this bundled in a great last.fm add-on ^^

i should've said as an addon, that would be better, because not everyone uses last.fm, same would go for a pandora addon, or any other type of addon, -
Inappropriate?We've got better Last.fm support in the new addon for 0.7. We have love and ban, we have links into your profile, but we haven't added links to artist pages yet, or radio.
We felt like really solid scrobbling was the best first step. -

i was just looking to have the last.fm main button features added to songbird, maybe thru and addon. i would love to basically have the ui of the last.fm app integrated to songbird instead of songbird linking and using the last.fm app separately.

Inappropriate?I would generally like to have the last.fm player inside of songbird. Or simply, when using a web tab to play the music, that it would be detected by songbird as the currently playing song.

sadly that is not possible with the last.fm API.. the most you can do is love a track and get the last 50 loved...
but at least you'll be able to play your loved tracks with the next last.fm add-on update ;)
