Leading Zeros for Tack numbers
It would be better practice if Songbird had leading zeros in the track numbers so that the new manage music feature will properly rename files 01, 02, 03...

SWEET! thanks for the tip. Any idea when it will be implemented into a build? -
Whenever 1.2 Final comes out (or another beta) ;) -
if your album has 1-9 songs, it will not display a leading zero,
if it has 10 or more, it will display a leading zero...
Do you see that reece? Or is something wrong... -
scratch that.. let me look into this... thanks reece.. -
Inappropriate?Hi all,
Like the majority of users here, I have been an iTunes user for a long time, and my entire library was organized in the iTunes format.
I wanted to switch to songbird yesterday, but it seems it doesnt support 2 digits track numbers, like 01, 02, 03.
So basically it would have taken an hour just to rename my files from "01 - Blabla.mp3" to "1 - Blabla.mp3".
I like my zero in front ;)
Cheers
Nick

(managing library) Two digits tracknumber in songbird 1.2?.

Inappropriate?Sorry for the repost of useless information (now deleted to hide my shame...).
I will post this thread back to the bug as a bump and hopefully a new pref will emerge.
I’m sorry for the mix-up

Inappropriate?I just followed the steps in the bugzilla to add the new about:config preference. Older files in my library were not changed until I forced songbird to re-check their metadata (ran a find album artwork). You could try turning off media management restarting and turning it on again to see if it renames everything with a leading 0.

Inappropriate? Please allow the user to decide if they want to follow the "iTunes" naming conventions. The leading zero is part of it.

Leading zeroes are not an itunes convention, really. They're commonly used to make sure files are ordered correctly when sorted by name in a file manager, and therefore a part of most sensible naming conventions. (Note: by no means do I endorse the itunes naming convention, just leading zeroes in general).
