Library importing problem

When importing an iTunes library, songbird scans up to 98% and then halts? All I can do is cancel, and thus I don't have any music in my library :( (I MUST use the import function so I can get rating and play-count data and not only the files) The xml was made with winamp and not iTunes, would that make any difference? Any other with the same problem?
I'm on XP sp3, songbird 1.2.0 build 1146 if that matters
