List of playlists a combined jumble...

When my 5th gen iPod video is connnected, Songbird and iPod libraries are displayed separately, as they should be. When I transfer files from Songbird library to iPod, that generally goes smoothly, too. But when I highlight tracks in the iPod library to and right click to Add to Playlist, Songbird displays an increasingly lengthy list that includes playlists from the media player AND the iPod. Often they have the same or similar names, so I've been adding temporary typos to the iPod playlist name to make sure I'm adding to the right playlist. Any remedy in sight (or am I doing something stupid)?
