Listening to a second song without altering whatever the main player is doing

Often time I find myself listening to many songs at the same time. For instance I might be listening to music from my library while looking for a song on seeqPod, or I could be listening to a song from a playlist while looking for another song I want to add to this same playlist. The annoying thing here is that I can't listen to only part of a song and then resume the song I was listening to in the first place. I have to go through the hassle of finding what I was listening to. Why don't we have a second integrated (simple play button) player that would play files without altering whatever the master player is doing? The second player would pause the main player and when the second song is over or when the user clicks stop, then the master player would simply resume playing the main song from where it stopped.
