MashTape cannot speak English any more
How can I delete mashTape’s German locale? I’m using Songbird on a Macbook running OS X 10.5.5 in English. When I installed Songbird, it automatically installed a German locale which I immediately removed. Now most of Songbird is back to English, but the German mashTape remains, which is, for me, a PITA. I searched the Package Contents for translated strings, but couldn’t find anything. So please, can you tell me how to make mashTape speak English?

Inappropriate?Your Mac is set to English and you got Songbird installed in German with a clean profile?
Can you double check System Preferences->International->Language and make sure that "Deutsch" doesn't stay in front of "English"?
>most of Songbird is back to English
Is it not completely?
Ensure you running English locale on your machine, and launch Songbird into profile manager by running in a terminal:
./songbird -p
Create a clean profile and launch in that profile.
If your Songbird starts in English, the mashTape should be in English as well. -
Inappropriate?Yes, the Mac is set to English, Deutsch is second on the list in the pref pane. I deleted the profile as you suggested, but after creating a new profile and restarting Songbird, it installed the German locale again. Disabling and uninstalling it in the Add-Ons/Languages preferences yielded the same results: Songbird switched to English, but MashTape (and ShoutCast, as I am just noticing) stayed German.

Inappropriate?I found a – slightly awkward – workaround: Cut off the internet connection during installation. This prevents downloading of the language pack in the first place, and the language mix-up doesn’t happen. This solution is good enough for me, but probably non-obvious for the casual user.
I’m kludgy

Inappropriate?I have a similar problem. My Vista is in Portuguese, however I want my mashtape to be in english, because it would get more results in last.fm. I removed my language pack... result: most of my songbird is in english, but the mashtape plug still is in portuguese
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?in songbird open a new browser window, type "about:config"
Find the preference "general.useragent.locale"
If the value is not "en" ('de' un your case), then set it to "en".
Restart songbird.
This fixed it for me. Use at own risk!
