Mashtape Resource Usage

I run Ubuntu 8.10, 32 bit. This isn't a very dire problem, just a slight annoyance. Even when songbird is minimized, the mashtape continues to cycle pictures. This creates little spikes in cpu usage every couple of seconds. It's not really a problem for my rig, but I could see it slowing down older machines. It would be much better if mashtape could detect when songbird was minimized and stop cycling pictures.
