Mediaflow choppy view
The mediaflow function is great, but is very "choppy" on my PC, the CPU load indicator rises to maximum when i browse in Mediaflow view.
Is this "normal"? When using iTunes, it runs very smooth in coverflow.
What kind of graphic feature does this Mediaflow-function utilize?
My PC is up to todays standard, so it shouldnt be a hardware issue...
Any settings etc i could try and change...?

Inappropriate?I've posted your comment directly to Media Flow summary page:

Inappropriate? What OS are you using? You mention using iTunes so it looks like windows or mac. I've seen this problem on linux, but not on a windows or mac. On linux I haven't been able to narrow it down(my linux machine died) but it was looking like an issue with the graphics drivers. MediaFlow currently uses canvas to draw. From what I understand Songbird(and Mozilla) use cairo to implement the gfx in canvas.

Inappropriate?Im using Win XP.
I may have been a little quick when stating its up tp todays standard, but it hasnt had any performance problems with this kind of graphical presentation in other, similar cases.. like i mentioned, for example iTunes' Coverflow, where it runs smooth.
Its a fresh install of Win XP, 2 GHz AMD64 CPU, 1 GB PC3200 RAM, Geforce 5900XT.
I use Nvidia ForceWare Release 90 drivers, which is an older, archived graphics driver - becuase of a an issue when running DualView with the latest driver. But i havent noticed any particular performance decrease using this driver elsewise.. -
Inappropriate? Can you open this site in songbird: http://glimr.rubyforge.org/cake/canva...
Do those animations appear choppy? They use the same technology MediaFlow uses. -
Inappropriate? It appears a little smoother, the FPS from 25-50..
But when i browse albumcovers in Mediaflow, its like number of FPS is like 2-3 -
Inappropriate?Well that's slightly less than what I get, around 60-80, keep in mind MediaFlow has more to draw than that test. I'm not really sure what I can do to fix anything for you, since it runs nice and smoothly for me. I'd look at updating your driver if you could, but that's all I can suggest. Sorry. I'll hopefully be adding a 3d version eventually which might render differently, but I don't think that will be happening very soon.
