Metadata and Multiple Computers
Song metadata seems to be stored in a directory separate from the volume containing my music, so that when I plug that volume into a different computer running Songbird, the metadata doesn't transfer. I thought Songbird writes tags back to the original file. What can I do?

Inappropriate?I am having this issue as well. The external drive is connecting via OS X, I am on Songbird 0.7.0, and I am running OS X Leopard. When I dragged my remote drive containing my music to songbird, it displayed all files as long file name only with no additional metadata and the metadata editor said I cannot edit the information for any mp3 file.

Inappropriate?It's a Cowon iAudio X5, which is basically a media player that functions as an external HD.
OS = OS X 10.4 on one machine, Leopard on the other.
Songbird version = 0.7.0 on the Leopard machine. Don't know on the other.
