Metadata of library messed up
Hi, this problem only occurred after installing the latest version of songbird (1.2). the metadata of songs get messed up (for me its the lyrics and album art only), for some odd reason, when i play a song, it shows me the album art and lyrics of another song, specifically, the third song after the currently playing song (song #1 will show lyrics and album art of song #4, so on so forth for all the songs in my library).
and in case it matters, i use LyricMaster for adding/displaying lyrics.
other than that, songbird is still working great as usual
edit:
this problem only occurs to songs that I've chose to save the lyrics. LyricMaster displays the correct lyrics if i fetch the lyrics again.
and I only edit my metadata through songbird.

Inappropriate?Hi Zach,
I saw your tweet, sorry no one came to your aid here sooner.
Did you try safe mode with LyricMaster disabled to confirm that is the source of the issue? If so, you should post this massage on the LyricMaster add-on comments page to see if the author can write a patch to fix it: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/search...
If you need the how to for Safe Mode check out our First Aid pages.
I’m optimistic

Hi Laura,
Thanks for replying :)
i've tried disabling lyricmaster using safemode. and turned songbird back on normally but the problem is still there. actually i have a correction to make, its not just the album art and lyrics that got messed up. some of the songs in my library has the album title messed up too. furthermore, itunes is showing the correct metadata, album art and all. and i import the data into songbird from itunes. -
Inappropriate?Doesn't sound like a LyricMaster bug then, sounds like a bug with the 2 Way Sync. Would you mind writing up a bug report with all this info as well as any pertinent screen shots and/or attach one of your affected files?

Inappropriate?I just wanted to mention that I have the same problem and I found this post while searching for information on how to fix it.
Here's what I've found about it: it seems to affect music files that have blanks for album, genre, track number, comments, and probably other fields as well in the metadata. Songbird takes the data from some other file (which appears to be chosen at random) and just replaces those blanks.
If I restart Songbird, it remembers this (mis)information. However, it does not overwrite the original metadata in the MP3 file itself. Theoretically, it could potentially reload the correct metadata from the original file. I have it set to watch a folder for updates, as well as to sync with iTunes. I have once observed the same file take on the metadata of yet another random file, but I cannot duplicate this reliably. I have also attempted to turn off the iTunes sync and folder watch but this has not caused the metadata to reload. I don't know how I can get it to force a complete reload of metadata, beyond resetting the program.
I’m frustrated

firstly, thank god for someone who can describe better than i do.my songbird does the same thing too(sorry to leave out that piece of info). and secondly, here's the bugzilla link for the error i filed.

hope you can comment there too. -
@saikofish and Zach, I added the comment above and link to this thread to the bug report. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hi Laura,
Thanks for the update.
I noticed one other issue, and I don't know if it is related but it's certainly in the same vein of imported data being wrong. It turns out that my iTunes playlists are getting shuffled as well, and there are occassionally songs that shouldn't be there in the wrong playlists.
