Migrating ratings from other players
I have a huge collection of music which I have rated in my previous audio player. I know how to extract playlists (.pls, .m3u , ...) from that other player where all songs have the same rating.
What I would like to do is to make Songbird read the playlist and match the ratings of the songs in its database with the ratings of the generated playlist file so that I don't have to re-rate every single file again.
There is no rating information in the playlist file per se but since I know the ratings I just want to "Match 5-star rating with playlist file 1" and "Match 4-star rating with playlist file 2" and so on.

Inappropriate?A manual possibility:
Export the 0,1,2,3,4,5-Star list and import them to songbird, select all tracks of each list and right-click, select edit metadata and rate them to the depending stars. -
Inappropriate?Thats a good suggestion, the only problem is that if I migrate from a Windows environment into a Linux environment, the paths of the files in the playlist will be different from the paths of the files in Linux. So my suggestion is to match them merely through their "identity" (matching filename and/or matching ID-tag) instead of paths.
