Moving songbird library from windows to ubuntu?
Does anyone know if its possible to move my songbird library on windows to ubuntu. I figure you can't just copy the db over as all the file paths would be wrong. so is it possible to edit the filepaths in the db? and how do i open it?
i have also tried the playlist exporter plugin on windows (which won't copy ratings or play count...), however it exports the file paths in a non case sensitive format which wont work in ubuntu. :(
thanks for your help,

Inappropriate?I know that moving Songbird profile between 2 OS is fine, but I think you should resyncronize your music folder. You can try to open the DB with a software that handle SQLite database and replace paths.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hi pumped,
i had the same problem, but found a workaround for me so far.
You have to provide the same folder structure after your music mount-point. In my case my music is stored on a nas. With windows I mounted my mp3z like \\nas\music. Under Linux I mounted the same share like /mnt/music
In this case the folder structure is the same (expect the "root" mount-point of the music).
Now i exported all my ratings with the im-/export rating plugin from my windows machine. After that I was able to import these ratings under linux and they matched to the correct music files!
Of corse this is just a work around but at least the ratings (most important thing for me) was restored!
Greetings,
Flo
