MP3 Player not detected.
My Nokia N82 phone is not detected by songbird.
Both linux and rythmbox detect it with no problem as a memory card, but songbird does not show it.

I have this problem, too!
Tell me when someone solves it.

Inappropriate? As soon, as it's mounted correctly and you have read write access to it, you should be able to use it in songbird, too.
MTP wise though Linux isn't currently supported. For now it only works on Windows... -
Inappropriate?yes it is mounted correctly.
would you be able to help me troubleshoot the problem?
PS: what is MTP wise?
thanks.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?mtp is a transfer and connectivity protocol, that's used by many devices that contain music or videos (like Mobile Phones or MP3 players).
It's similar to what IPod syncing is.
But since we're talking about a mounted sd card here, there shouldn't be a problem at all.
It should just work, as soon, as the device is mounted correctly, it should be usable like any other drive you mounted. -
Inappropriate?just tried with a standard SD card with a usb reader. and I get the same.
nothing.
I've never done this so i dont know what to expect.
should songbird add the new volume in the pane where the library is?
if so, nothing is there... -
Inappropriate?I think I know now, what you want.
You want to sync your Nokia with songbird, hm?
It isn't possible under linux right now.
You should be able to access and scan the sd card in there for media, using
"File > Import Media"
but nothing else.
You still have to manage the files on there with your normal system tools (file browser).
