MTP device stuck on mounting

I can never Get my Sansa Express to mount correctly. Songbird displays a littly ball that goes on and and on and on forever. If i click on cancel it stops but im missing the external card library, which is a pretty big deal concidering most of the memory is in there. And other times it mounts but its missing all the playlists and all songs.

I haven't had a good sync with song bird in about 5 weeks. While on WMP its almost always a good experience (can't remember when i had a problem with that). I love everything else about song bird (exept the lack of a sidebar manager but that's just a rant).
