MTP improvements
I Have a Sony NWZ-S618F and i have problems syncronizing it. Everytime i connect it, Songbird needs to "install" it and all files on the device are deleted and written again.. why isnt it just saved as a profile for this device (like in the wmp)?
Another problem is that songbird doesnt sends the Album-Art to my portable Device.. it would be nice if that could be fixed =)

We haven't tested Sony NWZ-S618F.
Working any other MTP devices we haven't seen that Songbird installs it , deletes an writes all the songs again.
It should mount and sync all the data.
Did you delete songs from the device mannually prior to sync with Songbird?
What's the visual confirmation that it deletes and writes songs again?
What's the visual confirmation on installing your device?
Regarding Album Art, we are doing the work for Album Art Support in general for this release. After it's done, the next step will be improving the Album Art support for the devices. This is planned for one of our future releases -
Inappropriate?Well i didnt delete any songs at all prior sync and it isnt the first time it deletes all songs first.... And here is a screen of the visual confirmation for deleting and writing the songs again (sry its in german):

Inappropriate?Looking at your images I realize you call installation (Installiere) what in fact is a mounting.that's normal to mount any device in application first.
Second picture shows Delete and Sync dialog.
You setting is set to sync all the library, playlists, etc.
It means, if you hit Sync button, it will synchronize your Songbird library with your device library.If you had 100 songs on the device and 10 songs in Songbird library, it will delete a 100 and add a 10.
This is how sync works(as designed).
If simply want to add some more songs to your device, don't use sync option.
Use Manually Manage option(the last one) instead.
With this option checked you can drag-n-drop songs onto your device.
It's not starting sync by itself as soon as it's mounted, is it??? -

I looked at the pictures.
It's sounds everything works as designed.
Reporter was not using the right options or got confused by German interpretation.
If the answer on my last question will be Yes, then it's a bug.
I will double check sync issues already filed. -
