Mutiple Library Management
How about mutiple library management? I.E. I have one library for my music, and one for my stock music collection, and one for my wife's music that I can access with out having to relaunch the program.

Inappropriate?I like the idea, for now you could do the following
-Divide the songs in multiple playlists
-Use the profile manager by going to: Tools->Enable profile manager; Then when you start songbird you can choose or create a certain profile. Each profile has it's own add-ons and library. But switching profiles does require a restart...

Inappropriate?Personally, I was thinking about splitting between Classical and popular music. Popular music is mostly indexed by artist, album. With Clasical music, I like to index by Composer, work, Conductor, and orchestra. Most music data bases insist on destroying my classical indexes, so at this point, as far as I know, I'm stuck with I-Tunes, and their sort tab to get what I'm looking for.1 Comment Add a comment

I am not entirely sure I understand what indexing is, but there is a smart playlist filter that filters your library by 'composer'. You could basically create a smart playlist for each of your favourite composers. However I have yet to try using that specific filter as my library does not contain classical works. -

Did that Profile thing (one could have mentioned that neither Firefox nor songbird are allowed to run when accessing the profile manager)
But it is not really an "easy to use" thing...
QUESTION:
can the profile manager be integrated in Songbird somehow? or at least the ability to kind of "hot swap" between profiles with a little button or?
And to overtake the installed add ons from another profile easily by just clicking one button?
But still: for me it would be better to have several libraries in the left pane

Itunes offers it, but only at start - no facility for change without relaunch.
But sure, a content management in the left pane on the first level would be nice, too - like 'audiobooks', 'classical', 'non-sorted', 'music of the children' etc.. Userdefined would be sweetest (naming & classification). But I think I read something, this is allready planned. Or not?
However - multiple libraries should be possible, I think!
