My Album Art is mixed up. Wrong art in many songs
All of my Album Arts are jumbled up and clicking "Get Album Art..." doesn't do anything. What I mean by jumbled up is that the "Best of Bowie" album art is showing up when I click a song from Guster's "Keep it Together" album cover. The album art is fine in iTunes and MediaMonkey (I have no idea why I have all three).

Inappropriate?Hey meshuganeh,
I actually had this problem a couple times before too. And I can confirm that it is just messed up in the linked cache and not in the metadata of the music itself (a.k.a. wiping your profile solves the problem - starting over fresh)..
But there currently is no bug filed for it / I have never filed a bug on it cause I don't know how to reproduce it and am not sure what the cause is.. I have noticed a few other reports on Get Satisfaction and I'm going to invite them here so we can further discuss it...
We need to figure out the exact steps to reproduce it consistently to file a bug on it to fix the problem, so let's first compare what features we use(an addon could also be the cause) to see if we see a pattern pop out...
I have a feeling it has to do with the iTunes Import feature.. cause I think I saw this happen after I was messing around with iTunes import and playlist creation and whatnot???...
I’m unsure

Wiping my profile worked fine and this time I didn't import iTunes. All seems fine now. -
how do i wipe my profile? im new to songbird -
Inappropriate? My cover art doesn't match the song playing or selected. Albums seem to be matched with the wrong cover art. How can I re-sync the art and music?

incorrect cover art.

Inappropriate? The first two songs of every album show the wrong album art. The albums look fine in iTunes, and when I look at Get Info in iTunes all the tracks seem to have the same (correct) album art. But when I look at the metadata in Songbird the first two songs do, apparently, have different (wrong) album art. It seems to be taking random artwork from some other album in my library. What the heck is going on? (I'm running on XP, btw)

Inappropriate?I had the same problem. I cleared my library after if happened and loaded it in throught songbird (not syncing it with iTunes as well) and the art looks fine. I would guess it has to do with how iTunes handles it's library compared to Songbird.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I had this problem as well, and it was usually the first song or two in the album that was messed up, but it was like this for nearly every album, like Ezra explained. I'm on Mac, so it's not an OS-specific problem.
The problem occurred once I booted up Songbird after it had "quit unexpectedly". I know this has something to do with it. I think I had just finished signing up for Last.fm the moment Songbird crashed. Seemed weird to me.
I’m mostly confused

Inappropriate?mmmk.. so i definitely can say that this is happening during the "Checking for changes in Library" part of an iTunes import... I physically saw the songs in the Library/Playlist rearrange and get out of order during that stage.. then those songs that got rearranged (some of the time its the last song of an album) gets replaced by the album of the song that got "put" there.. (sometimes its just crazy randomness??)
Hmm, still trying to figure out a pattern if possible..
And btw, in the meantime, an easy fix if this happens for you guys again is to go to about:config and set songbird.commands.enableRescanItem to true. To get the "Rescan Metadata" entry when right-clicking a track. That helps Songbird put the right album art back in place...
I’m still trying to track it down...

also noticed that it is messing with the Composer, Genre, and Comment field. gah! -
Inappropriate?not quite dude. Ive got the same problem on my new vista comp and ive never used itunes on it
I did have a library corruption before it got all screwed up but i deleted the database file and reinstalled and all my songs work but not the art -
Inappropriate?Sometimes this can also happen because all the files are in the same folder (and not sub-folders). Like:
X -
1.mp3
another album.mp3
If it has a folder.jpg there, it will apply to all of them.
