Inappropriate?Do you still experience the problem to execute Songbird?
You don't have execute songbird.bin
You need to execute file called songbird:
./songbird
Sorry for the delay in our respond. -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem in Sabayon 5.0 KDE - executing Songbird/songbird gives "Error: no display specified", Songbird/songbird-bin claims that libjemalloc.so doesn't exist even though it does. Trying to set up 1.2.0, 1.4.0b3 and the latest 1.5.0a all give the same messages. Logging in as root doesn't make any difference either.
Does anyone know what's causing this? Songbird is my favourite music player on Ubuntu. I don't really want to trawl through all of the alternatives just to find one that works.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?G'day guys. You are meant to execute ./songbird, NOT ./songbird-bin.. ./songbird apparently adds extra magic to get it going..
-
Inappropriate?Ahh, wait, the display error is something else.. You may need to declare an environment variable that is missing (cant remember which one though).
-
Inappropriate?I just double click the "songbird" file and songbird launches.
Also it is easy enough to add it to the menu just point the new menu item to this file, you can use the image in the folder for the menu icon
