No sound with M4A
Hi,
I just installed Songbird 1.1 including the quicktime add-on. I can now play my MP3 files with songbird. While I see my M4A (iTunes) files playing, there is no sound. I do not get an error message wither. What could be the cause of that?
Thanks for the help.
Greg

Inappropriate?I'm not sure exactly what's going on when this happens, but we've heard that uninstalling and reinstalling QuickTime fixes this problem.

Inappropriate?G'day Greg,
Just wondering if this was ever fixed..

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for following up. Unfortunately this did not work. MA4 and MP3 works fine, but M4A is still a problem.I've been hoping that I'll find a fix in one of the new releases! Otherwise, I really enjoy having/using Songbird and am spreading the word where I can :-)
Cheers

Inappropriate?G'day,
I'd just like to check that you have both the Songbird Quicktime plugin installed and Apple quicktime player (or Quicktime Alternate from codecguide)? -
Hi,
I'm having the same problem. I'm using Vista on a new laptop, the QT plugin for Songbird installed. I've installed/uninstalled QuickTime, QT Alternative, and QT Lite, all to no avail. It's really only a problem with the tracks I downloaded from the Apple iTunes store--all other AACs work fine.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?I have a similar setup and problem to Adam and Greg.
I'm a new user running songbird 1.2 on Windows XP. M4a tracks appear to be playing but I get no sound.
So far, I have tried uninstalling my old iTunes/Quicktime and installing Quicktime Alternative as suggested above. No change to problem. With current change, tracks can playback in Windows Media Player and VLC Media player, but problem persists in Songbird.
