Occasional small skips in song
Using Windows XP, Songbird 1.0: the playing song occasionally skips about half a second ahead of where it should be, interrupting the flow of the song. I would almost say it's a buffer problem (as far as I know there are no audio-related settings in songbird right?), but more likely it's a timing issue.

Inappropriate?I've got this also. Started after the update.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem it's very frustrating :(!!!!!!!!!

Inappropriate?Got the same problem with Klikit Linux running Hardy. It only occurs on streams like shoutcast, a very short, "gulping" sound. I'm on high speed internet cable in midwest U.S. Do not have the problem with other media players. If there was a way for folks to directly change the buffer size, if it a buffer problem, then that would be a good fix.

Inappropriate?New to songbird, love it so far, but this skipping thing is quite annoying. WMPlayer doesn't skip at all, running XP and whatever version of songbird was current as of yesterday. :<

Inappropriate?New to Songbird as well, but this skipping problem will cause me to switch away from it if it is not fixed promptly.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I have the same problem, although most of my media is on a secondary hard drive. Does anyone else have a similar situation?
I’m irritated.

Inappropriate?This may help some:
Tools > Options > Playback
Under "Output Buffer" increase the value where 1000ms (milli-seconds) equals 1 second.
Mine is currently set to 300ms with no issue. YMMV. -
Inappropriate?Bug #14891 is fixed on trunk.
songbird.mediacore.output.buffertime is set to 2000 ms by default on all the platforms.
That would be good to have a feedback from users who experienced this problem.
You can try the latest 1.2.0a builds at:

and check it with the files you had a problem with? You can comment directly in a bug.
Thanks.

Inappropriate?Thanx. I think I found the problem. When storing the rating in a flac file and rating it while the file is playing, it sometimes skips, so maybe this has to do with flac handling. I also see (with a network monitor) that the whole flac file is copied. When chaning the rating in Tag&Rename, the flac is not copied completely. So, flac file handling is not very well done yet.
I’m sad
