Pasting/Dragging album artwork in Songbird causes inconsistent metadata!?

I'm really trying to give Songbird a second chance, but come on! By pasting or dragging album artwork that is irretrievable by songbird itself (as in when I ask it to retrieve the artwork nothing happens), it's screwing up the metadata!? This feature is part of songbird! Why does a songbird feature screw up songbird?

How does adding the artwork via songbird even mess up the song file itself? All I did was drag/paste an image.

I'm really thinking about trying to find a third alternative instead of iTunes and Songbird...
