Songbird freezes after playing a few tracks
After I listen to a few songs, Songbird freezes. Don't have any clue about what's going on.
I'm using Songbird 1.1.1, Build 1018 (20090314001640), with a bunch of add-ons:
I use Ubuntu Intrepid, and got Songbird from some PPA.

Inappropriate?Does it always freeze after the same time? And is that in the middle of a song, or when 2 songs switch?

Inappropriate?Solved the problem here installing songbird from getdeb instead of PPA I was using (https://launchpad.net/~fta/+archive/ppa).
@seba: The problem occurs after the "fifth" (most cases, but sometimes it occurs after a bit more) song ends and another song should start. It just freezes. Hope this helps. -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem, but it doesn't always freeze after the same number of songs. Usually it's after just 2 or 3. Sometimes it is after the first. Sometimes a number of songs will play before it freezes. I'm running Easy Peasy 1.0 (Ubuntu 8.10) on Songbird 1.1.1 with a lot of addons. But someone above said they're getting the same problem with no addons.

Inappropriate?The getdeb version is not a viable fix for me. It has a serious bug in Ubuntu; the extension updater doesn't work - when you try to update extensions it just runs continuously without doing anything.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem on FC10 with songbird 1.1.1. There is bug open for this Bug 15401.

Inappropriate?i also have this problem on ubuntu intrepid 8.10.
running nightly addons, newest songbird build from source (4/7 r13294)
has been a problem for a while. (pre 1.1.1). plays a (random?) number of songs and then just freezes after a song finishes instead of going to the next one. have to restart the prog, then works fine.

Bug 15401 seems to be the one...
after following the instructions in the bug report, i downloaded the latest official build off of the website and it seems to work fine. i still can't build it on my own machine though.

Inappropriate?Me too. My Songbird sometimes (sic!) freezes after 3 or 5 songs played. But this probled is associated only with cyrillic-named songs (and so files). -
Inappropriate?I dont have any freezing problems but if I open a song from my external HDD with songbird halfway through song it will start playing another or the same song in the background. You hit pause and the main songs stops but the background song keeps playing. Have to shut it down to make it stop. This is how I know it is songbird and not some other program.
