Inappropriate?Hi mataal,
You raise an interesting concern that is global for applications that use add-ons. To core or not to core, that is the question, and we talk about it a lot. Unfortunately if we threw everything into core for fear of the add-on no longer being updated, we'd have a bird too fat to fly.
Not saying your idea couldn't be core, just giving my 2 cents on your rationale for why you want it to be core.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?Hi Laura,
Thanks for your opinion. This seems to be one of the evergoing questions for any (plugin) community development .
However, in this case
- I feel that this a feature i'd expect off the cuff.
- It shouldn't be that 'heavy' to implement that the bird can't fly
- I have stopped using songbird because this issue is THAT important for me.
Just to put some context into why i keep asking for this- I have a HUGE playlist and listen to it 99% of the time on shuffle/random. So, it is quite often that I want to see what is playing and where that song is etc.

Understood, thanks for your feedback. :0) -
Inappropriate?Great. Can we look forward to seeing this IN sometime?

Inappropriate?Sometime? Yes, possibly. Sometime soon? Sorry, but not likely. Your first step would be to log it as a feature request in Bugzilla and gather up some me too votes, either here or there in order to bump it up on the to do list.

Inappropriate?I too expected this to be the default behavior. I can't tell you how long I've mucked around in options trying to find a setting to focus on the currently playing track. Glad to know I'm not alone on this. +1 for this idea!
