According to the Songbird wiki, it's planned for in Oct 2009 release. I'm looking forward to it, so I can replace iTunes!

Inappropriate?Ok not just a podcast but a podcast feed.
for example
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Twipphoto
So when A new one is made Songbird will grab it for me. either manually or on a timed basis. 1/day every x hrs etc.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?I did not notice a Podcast feature in the product description. And as mogrith wrote - yes when a podcast is updated (some daily), then Songbird will grab it & then have it sync'd to my iPod.
Having a Podcast directory like with the iTunes Store, is not that important, but if that was also an available feature with Song bird, then even better. -
Inappropriate? This is essential for me to use songbird as a full replacement

uh, you might want to check that roadmap again before you get all excited about using songbird. podcasts are off the roadmap and it is not clear they will ever support them. sorry about that, I wish it were not so, but it is. -
Inappropriate?I agree, that and the CD ripping feature (also expected in this release) will make Songbird self-sufficient for all music & podcast management (me being an average user, without audiophile needs).
I’m excited as well

I don't know how important CD ripping is. Yes, it is a parity feature, but CD sales are declining in place of online sales, right? -
+1 for podcasts, and I totally agree with honkerdown: with so mant podcasts flying on air, I consider podcasts a must for songbird, and more important than cd ripping as such. -
If you, like me, have a kinda large CD-collection and wants to listen to it on your music player of choice, then you need a CD-ripper. And instead of moving from one application to another, it is nice to have it all in one package. -
Inappropriate? Can't wait for this to be implemented as I can use Songbird fulltime. It has the best last.fm player IMO. Adding podcast section would just make it pure awesome!
I’m excited

Inappropriate?if Podcast subscription & management truly are being dropped, so is Songbird from my machine.
I’m ticked

Inappropriate? It seems off the roadmap now however podcast shows up as an option in the recent songbird surveys (as an option to a question like "which should songbird support better?" - in these lines, I mean)
I belive podcast support is a "must have" for a decent project like songbird and I really hope they can revise their roadmap to give full podcast support in the near future.
I’m anxious
