Problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala)
Hi! I had Songbird working fine in Ubuntu 9.04, then I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and now I can't get Songbird to work anymore. Every time I try to run it I get an error message:
Could not find compatible GRE between version 1.9.0 and 1.9.0.*.
Any idea of why this is happening and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Inappropriate? How did you obtain songbird for Ubuntu? Did you download the .tgz file from the songbird website or did you get the .deb package file from ubuntu from http://www.getdeb.net/ On getdeb, you can find the .deb package for songbird for ubuntu jaunty 32bit and 64 bit editions. It works on Ubuntu 9.10 which is what I am using now with no problems.
I’m unsure

Inappropriate?Hi Norberto and Michael.
Thanks for the replys. I had installed Songbird by the tarball. Now I removed it and installed by the deb file I got from the getdeb.net site.
After installing it from the deb file I started to have some problems similar to the ones described in the thread indicated by Michael. (http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...)
After using the workaround suggested in the thread (export LD_BIND_NOW=1; songbird) I am now able to start Songbird, but I still get a lot o error messages in the command prompt.
But the most important is that I can hear my music again. :-)
Thanks guys.
I’m thankful
