Remote control for non-Iphone users??

I can control VLC from my windows mobile phone with an app I downloaded is there anyway to do this with songbird
(I have an htc touch)

all I have to do is put in this program my ip and a port to control vlc and then the same into vlc and add the web interface(built in) and then while on my network with vlc is playing music I can change the song, play/pause, change volume.

I’m hoping that someone can come to the rescue
