Remote control via native iPhone/iPod Touch app
There is an app called CF iViewer on the appstore that supports control of hardware and software via their own TCP/IP protocol.
Would someone be willing to write an add-on that can communicate with the iPhone app to allow iPhone to control SongBird like a remote, and also display library information - much like the Apple 'Remote' app for iTunes.
Checkout www.commandfusion.com/downloads for the protocol spec. They have a guiDesigner software which allows custom GUI creation as well - so the iPhone interface would be completely customisable.

Inappropriate?Although it is not yet uploaded to the add-ons site, I heard a little birdie say that one was already in the works. I don't think it's an official Songbird project, but keep your eye on the add-ons site and maybe it will show up.

Inappropriate?the songbird app thats up on the app store at the moment has one problem that i found.
if your on a network that needs you to sign onto via a web browser it doesn't work because both you computer and ipod have to be signed on and this cant be done with one account. i know this is probably a problem with my internet provider on my uni campus but because its not needing to be on the internet to work i thought it wouldn't be a problem.
i know its a problem that at my end not the songbird end but its something to think for updates cheers -
Inappropriate? If you wish to be on the beta program for Songbird Remote, an iPhone Remote Control for Songbird, email in your iPhone identifier.
To obtain the iPhone/iPod Touch identifier
Use iTunes with you device connected
Click on your device within iTunes DEVICES
Click on "Summary" tab within iTunes window
Click on Serial #, it will switch to display a 40 digit hex string, that is your iPhone identifier
Go to edit menu, copy, then paste it into an email, and send it to me, along with your OS requirements (Mac 32, Windows 32, Ubuntu 32, Ubuntu 64 or ?)
Send email to beta2 AT 779Media DOT com
I’m happy
