samsung YP-P3 workings

I am hoping to migrate away from an iPod and iTunes. What happens next will depend on whether i use songbird, amaroK or something else. What i need to know is:

Are there any plans for the samsung yp-p3 music player to be supported? I know that the yp-p2 was supported so i assume that this should not be too difficult.

Also, if it was to sync and such like easily, would this recognise play counts and ratings without add-ons? I particularly want this to work with my last.fm account in order to maintain my listens that i have had with itunes and my old ipod.
