Screencasts on Songbird Website
As mentioned in a few Songbird ideas now, the songbird site only shows 1 picture of Songbird, so users don't get a feel for it. As Apple have demonstrated, part of the problem is letting users know a product exists, the rest is "selling" them the product.
Songbird should do as Apple does and post a movie about the features and benefits of Songbird, and what it is capable of. This way people know what songbird's strong-points are, and don't need to learn about them by themselves.
And new releases should have their own screencast demonstrating the new features available in that release as a movie. Many people for instance STILL don't know what watched folders are. Bonus points if the movie was integrated into the songbird upgrade window.

We're actually doing a lot of work around how best to market and as you say "sell" Songbird right now, not to mention who do we want to sell it to, yadda yadda yadda. That being said this idea is in the mix and I'll be sure to keep it in the forefront of those talks. I know as a new user myself when I joined the team, I really could have benefited from a getting started tutorial as well. There's a lot of super stealthy stuff our bird can do and we need to get the word out!
