Media core error - "gst_directsound_sink_open: DirectSoundCreate: D"
I have a media core error that keeps crashing songbird - "gst_directsound_sink_open: DirectSoundCreate: D"
At first I thought it was from changing a folder name of some mp3s and then trying to play them with songbird. I removed the library and reloaded which seemed to work. Then it happened again, I tried re-installing songbird and then it happened again. Now nothing works.

Inappropriate?I get the same exact error, and I haven't changed anything of importance lately
I’m disillusioned

Inappropriate?Simple audio driver problem - might be the same for you abstract_it.
I just reinstalled an older version of my Conexant HD Audio driver (automatic update had installed a newer version) and everything started working again.
When I tried to open a song file in WMP, it immediately told me that my driver wasn't working, easy to fix after that.
Sorry to bother!
