shuffle button disappears

i am using Version: Songbird 1.1.1b2, Build 994 (20090224150250), on a 32bit windows XP SP3, and adding screens here, as i said, its not dependant on the feather, but it happens everytime. when i open songbird, no shuffle button is showing.

also, this problem doesn't appear on my boyfriends Leopard.

I dont recall seeing any patches applied to fix something like this (and I haven't noticed it myself either).. Not sure if you'll like this suggestion, but have you tried creating another profile, and seeing if the other profile is affected? More info is on: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/index.ph...

You could simply move the songbird settings folder to the desktop for the meantime, test it, and after testing, move the original back in place. Try it first maybe without any extensions installed, and build them up (if you post your list of feathers/extensions, I'd be happy to run through them too to help isolate the culprit, if it is caused directly by one).

This will probably fix your problems. Sometimes some extensions/plugins do weird things (there was one in the past which VERY quickly gained notoriety for the few days it was available, as it caused songbird to constantly crash and weird things happened halfway through the song playback). It may also be worth listing your extensions installed beforehand, as it maybe/probably is a bug in an extension, and if it is, might be helpful to developers to isolate which one.

thanks for the help Andrew, they have been very helpful over there at bugzilla. when i said it works on other feathers too, i was just switching feathers, not disabling them. it seems my new feather is causing my problem, i dont know actually why it happens but there might be a mess up with the code. this gives me creeps cause im not a great coder lol.

Good to hear you isolated the problem finally, bad to hear its going to take a bit of debugging to get it fixed fully..Things could be worse though ;)

Didn't think of disabling them actually personally.. but will certainly remember that in other cases
