Inappropriate? Can you not just select the track and press delete to remove it from your library (not from the disk?)

Inappropriate?pvh says: "Can you not just select the track and press delete to remove it from your library (not from the disk?)"
Duh! Don't you think the user has tried that already before posting his/her question? That's not very helpful at all. That's just like replying, "Did you turn on the monitor?" or "Can you just open your eyes?" when a user reports "I don't see anything on the screen."
The appropriate support answer would have been:
The user has to change the default "Sync Settings" from "Sync" to "Manually manage". Automatic sync disables removal of songs from the library because the program manages it. To resolve this, click on the iPod icon in SongBird to display the "Sync Settings". Then, click on "Manually manage" radio button. After this change, the user will now be able to delete songs from the Library. -
Sorry, where's the iPod icon in Songbird? I'm having the same problem, but can't find the icon you're referring to. -
Inappropriate?MyK,
I, too, have had Cricket's problem. Changing it from "Sync" to "Manual" does not seem to fix the error.
Does anyone know how to delete songs from your ipod with Songbird? It HAS to be do-able... It really shouldn't be so hard.
I’m sad

Just found the problem.
For anyone else with this error:
-Click on your ipod icon to the right. Not the playlist, but the ipod itself.
-Look for a button called "Sync". If it's on, go down and instead select the "Manual" button.
-Click the "Save" button after you make this change (That was my error. I was used to iTunes and not having to save this change)
