Songbird 0.6.1 simply not working
Last night I upgraded from 0.4.X to 0.6.1
I noticed that after the 0.6.0 upgrade things weren't working very well. Moving up to 0.6.1, same problems.
I was able to get one song to play after the upgrade. Everything else would come p in the info screen and just sit there, and after a few seconds move to the next track and not play that either. It would scroll through an entire albums worth of titles without ever starting a song. Today I uninstalled Songbird 0.6.1, reinstalled from scratch, manually deleted my entire library and then reimported everything. Still not working.

Inappropriate? There was freakish amount of recoding done to the library in the time between 0.4 and 0.6.
The most likely case is, that your old profile just doesn't play well with the new inner workings of the bird.
Since you already tried to delete the songs and re-add them,
I advice you to delete your profile and start completely fresh.
Windows:
Start Menu > Programs > Songbird > Profile Manager
-There, select and delete the profile, hit exit and start Songbird as usual
any OS (including Windows):
Find and delete the Profile Folder.
The Profile Folder is stored as are all User based settings on your computer in one and the same place.
Windows: Documents and Settings - "Username" - Application Data - "Name of Program"
Linux: /home/"username"/."name of Program"
example: /home/tylerstyle/.songbird1
The dot means, that the folder is usually hidden and you have to select show hidden Files and Folders in your preferred file browser, in order to see those.
Mac: What the hell do I know about Macs? I don't have money to waste.
So. What do we do with this info now?
We delete the folder and see, if the bird flies again.
You could just rename the Folder for now and keep it safe, in Order to be able to restore it, if you start missing something, after you've tried to run with a fresh profile.
Tyler out!

Inappropriate?I'm running Ubuntu 7.04. When I try to run Songbird 0.6, nothing happens. Previous versions worked. I deleted the profiles as you suggested, but still no luck.
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate? Please search for other topics about this error. There are some, where dev's replied and said something about the read/write permissions, that sometimes get confused.
And you could try to download one of the last nightly's and see, if that will run. Saw that happening earlier today, too.
