Songbird 1.0 does not start on Linux (PCLinuxOS)
I downloaded Songbird 1.0 to use it on my PCLinuxOS distro. I extracted the tar.bz creating a "songbird" folder in my home directory, but now anything happens when I try to start the songbird or songbird.bin files (o they are links?)
My system is ok with all the system requirements required for Songbird 1.0.
I also tried as root, but nothing changes, no response.
What's wrong?

Inappropriate?cianoz,
Could you please check out this thread and see if it addresses your issue: http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
In the meantime I'm passing your topic to our in house Linux expert.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?I am also having this issue; I have tried the method you suggest.
Running the script "songbird" from console after extracting gives the error:
Floating point exception"$prog" ${1+"$@"}
..and running the binary executable "songbird-bin" gives this error:
/usr/lib/Songbird/songbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libjemalloc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
Some searching of my system show that this library does exist:
/usr/lib/Songbird/xulrunner/libjemalloc.so
/usr/lib/Songbird/libjemalloc.so
/usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9/libjemalloc.so -
Inappropriate?I could solve this problem on my ubuntu Jaunty by doing:
sudo apt-get remove libvisual-0.4-plugins
Then you launch ./songbird in the songbird directory, and for me everything worked fine...
