Songbird 1.1.1b3 ignoring mp3gain's changes
I've tried adjusting the volume of some of my files with mp3gain. It works in WMP11 and the last Songbird non-beta version, but 1.1.1b3 seems to ignore the changes. I've tried all settings that the beta offers (enabling normalization, disabling it, album/track as preferred track), nothing affects it. Am I doing something wrong or is something broken with Songbird (i.e. can somebody confirm my observation)?
Thanks in advance!

Inappropriate?Have you tested this on the final 1.1 release yet?
-
Inappropriate?Oh, I didn't notice it was out yet. Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work either.
When I play a file in Songbird, VLC and WMP11, all at maximum volume, shouldn't they sound equally loud? Songbird definitely isn't, VLC and WMP are. -
Inappropriate? What OS are you on? If it's Vista, you should look into the Audio settings of Vista. It handles every App differently somehow.
+ are you sure songbird is set to maximum itself? -
Inappropriate?Yes, I am on Vista x64 (actually Windows 7 x64, but I believe there are no differences between Vista and 7 in that area). Songbird is set to the same volume level as WMP/VLC, i.e. maximum.
I will see if I can reproduce this behaviour on OS X and Vista x86, I'll post as soon as I can give an answer. -
Inappropriate?Okay, I'm pretty sure it works as intented on Mac OS X Leopard with iTunes 8.0 and Songbird 1.1.1. Though I believe it exhibits the same behaviour on Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit.
I raised the volume level with mp3gain in one song and I can hear the difference in WMP, but not in Songbird. I'm pretty sure didn't have any effect whatsoever. Am I the only one experiencing this?
