Songbird allways freezes on ubuntu while playing a song!
Hey, I've been using Songbird, and it's cool and everything, but when Im hearing music, it suddenly freezes (after 2 or 3 tracks, sometimes even with the first song).
So, it freezes not only the program, but also my whole computer, my keyboard or mouse wont respond, the audio get's looped on the last second, and I have to hard-shutdown my laptop (holding the shutdown button).
Should I tell you my addons? (I use the default ones), or lspci? how can I fix this?

Inappropriate?One other thing, when I say my whole computer freezes, I mean, "all", like in, "CapsLock" wont even turn on the little light in the keyboard, and control+alt+backspace wont restart X, etc..

Inappropriate?Can someone PLEASE help? In Ubuntu (Hardy), this happens whenever I use the Web Browser function in Songbird or when I run Firefox at the same time. The whole computer, mouse, keyboard, sound freezes up and I am forced to restart the computer. And I really like Songbird! :(

Inappropriate?It's apparently a bug in X.. I've seen a same issue on firefox users, and the solution was disabling the daemon that is in charge of hard drive frequency.. but that doesnt work.
There are no logs on X.0.log nor in kernel log..
I've found a niver way of restarting the computer.. (Alt+SysReq[Print Screen]+R E I S U B) but still, I can't un-freeze the computer,
I'll try to SSH to my computer tomorrow when it's freezed to see if there's any way of watching what's going on.

Inappropriate?Guys, make sure your system is completely up to date. Kernel and all. See this thread for more info (link below). I made a post about how I resolved the problem. The exact same thing was happening to me, but after the latest kernel rolled through my update manager I've had no more problems with locking up. The only thing now keeping me from using SB exclusively is the lastfm scrobbling bug. Hope that gets fixed soon. Good luck!

Also I only have the following addons: Album art Manager 2.0.2, DOM Inspector 2.0.0, Glossy Coat 1.7.0.2, JavaScript Debugger 0.9.87.4, Last.fm, and MediaFlow 2.6
It has been working fine without any problems, besides the lastfm bug, for weeks now. -
Inappropriate?A system freeze has to be caused by kernel errors, or driver errors.. I've upgraded my graphic's card driver, X.org nor ALSA have a newer version, and I have the newest kernel.. =|

Inappropriate?I've disabled Album Art Manager, hided the little panel of the cover in the bottom left corner, and I havent had a system freeze since then.

If this is the problem, I'll debug the bug, and file it to the albumartmanager devs.. maybe it has something to do to modifying the file being played, (maybe to change metadata?) I dunno..

Inappropriate?I have exactly the same problem as sirdarckcat, but on Windows XP! Complete freeze, reboot needed.
This problem occurs in "album art manager" and "album view". It freeze during the loading process, when the addons start displaying the current covers. It does not happen all the time, just every 4-5th try.
I’m happy, because i thought the problem was my cheap onboard graphics, and now I know I'm not alone

Inappropriate?Well, I've done EVERYTHING everyone and I have suggested, and it froze again. I'm taking a break from Songbird and I guess I'll have to use Amarok (I don't like Amarok). I can't afford to lose information over a music player. Lemme know if anyone fixes the problem.
