Songbird crashes after add-on install. How to remove add-ons?
I installed Songbird and it was working great. However I tied installing the MMkeys add-on and now Songbird won't start... even after uninstall and re install.
Is this add-on stored someplace that isn't getting removed after uninstalling? How can I be sure this add-on is gone? Does anyone know where the add-on install files are stored?
-Thanks

Inappropriate? On Linux the add-on files are stored at profile folder in .songbird2
It should in your home directory(enable hidden file by Ctrl+H).
The path to the folder look like that:
/home/"user"/.songbird2/iq5dhx8r.default/extensions/
Look for some long folder name like that:
{b8ac3781-7960-4790-b6fa-da13619eaba6}
Check install.rdf file to make sure you got the right one.
Sounds like MMKeys is not working properly anymore (BTW, it's for 32bit only).
So, another developer created different add-on based on MMKeys:

Boris, thanks for the info. I removed the MMKeys add-on directory you pointed me to and I can now run Songbird.
However, every time I open Songbird it runs through the Setup routine; asking me to import media, install recommended extensions, etc.
Any ideas on that one?
Thanks again! -

Inappropriate?A reinstall of Songbird using the tar instead of the deb has solved my repeating setup issue.
I’m feeling better

Inappropriate? We don't provide deb packages ourselves, so we don't know how they're packaged.
I know some people use deb packages downloaded from getdeb.net.
Usually, we won't look deep into any problems unless it's a .tar file from
http://getsongbird.com/ or
http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Develope...
But, this is a good info for other users to know.
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Same problem, I intalled a lot of addons (About 12) on my first run, the addons said songbird needed to restart, and it never did, it keeps getting an error. poorly designed if you ask me, the fact that i was able to run it once before a crit error and i need to redownload and go through the entire process again when i don't even know which addon out of the 12 was the culprit. Any body know off hand any addons which dont work for windows xp sp2??
I’m Very Angry and dissapointed that i wasted my time w/ this program.

Inappropriate?I agree with you, it isn't optimal to show an error and quit songbird before you get a chance to see what's wrong/correct a mistake. However there's probably one or more of your installed add-ons causing this error, and therefore the process won't run as expected :-(
Instructions for a clean reinstall are here. You can get the latest nightly build here , that's what I'd recommend you to try. Or maybe wait for the next release which should be out very soon.
I really hope you're not to angry to give it another go, Give songbird a second chance and we'll do our best to make sure it doesn't disappoint you again.
