Songbird disables Vista Aero when I play a song
I just installed Songbird on my new Vista 64 computer, the player loads fine, but as soon as I play a song it disables Vista Aero. I can't seem to find the pop up anymore to find out for sure what part of Songbird is disabling it - but if I'm not mistaken it said "Songbird Web Player" or something along those lines. Any know what would be doing it?

This is not a songbird issue. This is an Apple Quicktime issue, and if you lose Aero when starting Songbird, you'll lose it anytime you start a program that uses Quicktime (streaming mp3s from a browser, watching quicktime videos, etc.)
To remedy this, open Quicktime, go to Edit->Preferences->Quicktime Preferences
Under the "Advanced" tab, make sure "Safe Mode (GDI Only)" is enabled instead of DirectX.
Restart after you've completed the change, and open Songbird.
Cheers

Inappropriate?I have a similar problem.
Similar because the the scheme switches to vista basic just by running songbird. Using vista home x64 and songbird 1.2.0, Build 1146
I even disabled the quicktime support as pointed out in this thread somewhere and i play mainl mp3 files.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Yeah, thanks Andy; I'm using Window 7 rc and disabling DirectX in quicktime did the trick!
