Songbird does not show album art. Problem ignored?
Songbird is not displaying album art, despite my album art being saved to id3 tags. I've seen others with this problem, but they're going unanswered. I'm worried that this is a problem that's being purposely ignored.
Is there a solution to this problem? Is it a bug? Can someone answer what's going on?
The art displays correctly in the following programs: Media Monkey, Winamp, MP3 Tools, J River.
But not songbird. Obviously, this is a problem with Songbird. A big problem.

Inappropriate?I've been having this problem since a few versions too, and nothing has changed with 1.0. I dont know why Songbird itself cannot pickup my album art in id3 tags, while an addon like SongNotifier can read it just fine and displays it in its popup for all my music
I’m confused

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?Same problem here. May I add that the problem is sporadic. Some embedded ID3 tags display the art, while others (the majority) do not.

Inappropriate?I have this problem both on Vista and OS X. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon!

Inappropriate?I too have had this problem as well as all my metadata is all wrong and I have had to redo it, 36,000 odd songs isnt a small task, so far I am up to 'b'

Inappropriate?I've the same problem. I running Songbird 1.0.0 on Fedora 10 and Windows XP. Sometimes Songbird reads the ID3 tags correctly, other times not.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I also have this problem and would love to see it fixed, or at least addressed!
I’m glad to know other people are experience this problem too.

Inappropriate?I still haven't gotten a response, but I did send in a test file for FLAC album art a while ago so hopefully they tested it...?
-
Inappropriate?Well, if that explanation is the 'resolution' of this issue that would really suck. No way in hell I am going to completely re-do my album art to meet their player's format... the art is embedded in my FLAC files and works fine elsewhere, so hopefully they address this. Keeping cover art in a folder or whatever is no good.

Inappropriate? This problem has been flagged in this post also and there is a Bug in Bugzilla entered

Inappropriate? On my system, it isn't picking up folder.jpg artwork. The only displayed artwork appears to be items with embedded artwork (I think). The vast majority of my artwork does not appear. (Vista, mp3 files)

Inappropriate?I'm experiencing this problem too. I just had to reinstall Windows and after I set up Songbird, no cover art! Now i know all my mp3's have it.
As a workaround I did the following.
What I did was load them into an mp3 editor (I used Mp3Tag), highlight them and just click save (don't make any changes). After it finished, Songbird now shows my cover art.
I did this in small batches in case anything went wrong. I also closed Songbird whilst I did it. -
Inappropriate?I think I've found the problem - improper MIME type for the cover art. It seems Mp3Tag had a problem setting the MIME type which impacted about 20% of my collection. After downloading the newest dev build of Mp3Tag and re-embedding the images, Songbird shows the art for every disc.
I recommend people having this problem look at the MIME type (top line next to the cover image in Mp3Tag) to confirm if this is the problem.
