Songbird freezes when transferring to Creative Zen / Sync not working

Songbird 1.1.1 freezes when transferring music to MTP device. When I try to transfer 30 songs to a Creative ZEN micro via Songbird, the computer freezes. Taskman reveals that Songbird uses ~800MB RAM. Songbird freezes for about the time to transfer and then returns to work normally, although only 3% of CPU timing is used.

Also the auto-sync / sync-button won't work with the ZEN, all transferring has to be done manually.
