songbird is lying to me
Random songs just wont sync to my ipod, songbird says they're synced but they aren't, I watched the little bar that shows that its updating and it goes by in a flash. The files are mp3s that worked fine on itunes; it got to the point where i re-ripped the files, didn't work.

Inappropriate?Hi cooterthedrew,
So that I can assist you, please let me know:
1) what version of Songbird you are using;
2) what operating system you are using; and
3) a step-by-step rundown of how to reproduce this error.
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?I am having this same problem also, in addition it never says its done syncing. It gets to one song and says it is syncing it and that goes on until I disconnect my sansa fuse

Inappropriate?sorry it took me so long. I am using songbird 1.4.0b3. I was using 1.2.0 and having the exact same issue but I thought I would have better luck with the new one.
I have windows 7 32bit
and I just plugged my sansa into songbird, It always defaults to Manual sync, so I drag the playlist to my sansa, it says syncing x of 31 songs which isn't correct because it syncs 230 songs. And My song Scent of a robot by Pete Miser NEVER goes on. I had to open the sansa's folder in windows explorer and drag the file to it THAT way and that was the ONLY way to get it on there.
Then in songbird. it gets to the last song and says syncing X song and it stays that way. I never get a Sync complete and there is no eject device button.
When I used to sync my ipod it would sync, and then say Syncing is complete. -
Inappropriate?Hi Mystitsu -
Windows 7 is still technically not a supported platform, as it's so new. We haven't had time to test on it yet, so you're sailing into uncharted waters here!
Since you said that you also had version 1.2, I would recommend that you create a new profile, as there can sometimes be migration issues. Don't delete your old one, though! Also be sure to grab the corresponding MSC/MTP add-on when you download nightlies.
Are all of the tracks in your playlist mp3s? And do any of them have any kind of DRM? You can check what formats will sync to your particular Sansa model by right-clicking on the device node and going to "Get Info."
Let me know if that helps! -
Inappropriate? How do I make a profile in songbird? I assume it isn't like a profile in any other program and I have never seen a link for it in any of the menus. There is not thing that actually says create profile that jumps out at me. I just install the program, let it find my music and go usually. All my tracks are mp3s. not wavs the wmas, not ogg not flac. as far as DRM, I don't think Amazonmp3 uses those and all the other ones I got off of friends CDs or my cds so I doubt they are drms.
hopefully now that windows 7 is out someone will test on it. Although I and many folk have had the RC since may and its not really that different. I seriously doubt its my OS because i Have had songbird as long as I have had windows 7 (about 6 months) and never had a problem with this program or anything else. When I had vista I had ALL KINDS of issues. They ended with win7. -
Inappropriate?Hi Mystitsu -
To create a new profile, go to Start > All Programs > Songbird > Songbird (Profile Manager). Because this is essentially a fresh start, you will have to go through the setup screens again, and also re-import your music. The easiest way to do that is just to set up a Watchfolder on the setup screen.
Also, what particular Sansa device are you using?
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?i have a sansa fuze 2gb with a 2gb micro sd card also
