Yes, indeed. The profile always remains, so that you wont loose it, if you change Versions.
But in this case. Your profile sounds like a possible cause to your problem.
So. On Vista your profiles (indeed from all Programs) are stored as follows:
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Songbird2\
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Songbird2\
Those folders (the ones named "Songbird2") need to go and then the whole thing should start fresh, as a springs breeze.

Inappropriate? Can you specify more clearly, what exactly you deleted?
Plus:
What Operating System are you on? -
Inappropriate?hey thanks for the quick reply
i cant entirely be certain - i ran something that finds and deletes duplicate files - i happened to glimpse a couple of them b4 deleting - one of which was chrome. later on when i tried to open up songbird for some reason its invisible - like its running and i can see the odd button like file and edit - the album art space but otherwise completely invisible! Im runnin 32 bit vista. Ive been using songbird for 3 weeks and its been perfectly fine but since i deleted the file its gone all funny.
like i said ive even tried unistalling and installing again with no luck -
Inappropriate?Sounds all too queer...
We'll try something different, then.
Delete your profile Folder and then run songbird again.
That way, you run with a fresh profile and such deletion problems should vanish.
Alas, your settings, installed addons and managed library will be gone, too. But that is better, then nothing at all.
Your profile is in your user data, where all app settings are stored.
If you don't know where those are found, be sure to come back and I'll shed light on that, too.
