Songbird performance on linux
Songbird takes approx 20 seconds to retrieve ID3 tag from songs in the library. During this time it consumes 100% cpu.
Files are located on a remote machine and mounted locally via sshfs. During the 100% cpu the load is Songbird, not sshfs process. Searching the library is similarly slow.
Platform is Linux debian64 2.6.18-6-amd64, Songbird version 0.7.0

Inappropriate? You're using pretty outdated Songbird version.
Try Songbird 1.0.0 at:
http://getsongbird.com/
or the latest nightly builds at:

Inappropriate?ok, I've upgraded to 1.0.0
There's no performance hit whilst retrieving ID3 data now... then again, it's no longer updating the view in the library with the ID3 info... I'm just seeing the raw file name as the track title, with no other information.
The 'now playing' bar seems to have gathered the ID3 tag though.
Hmm.. partial success! When I have more time I'll query the library database and see what it's got in there...
cheers -
Inappropriate?Actually, another strange thing... both 0.7.0 and 1.0.0 are able to determine that a particular song matches a search pattern even if it doesn't display the ID3 tag in the library info.
eg, I search for a particular album containing songs for which songbird only displays the raw file name in the 'Title' field; the search results contain matches based on only the ID3 album info.
Clearly it has some comprehension of the ID3 data for a given song, but fails to display it in the library info.
