Songbird Vista Aero style feathers with transparency
Is it possible to create a Vista Aero style feather for Songbird? I think it'd be rather nice if you could have a Songbird Vista feather which blended the majority of the dark area using Aero's blending technology, with adjustable opacity. Has anyone created such a thing? At the moment Songbird is sexy, but it could be more so with shadows and alpha-blending.

Inappropriate?@Lenny: Are you going to give it a go? If so, keep us posted here and we'll happily beta-test for you.
@Geekshadow: I will give those a try tonight and put up some screenshots once I have. Thanks for your suggestion.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Sure, I'll give it a shot! But before I start, what colors do you wish this feather make use of?

Inappropriate?Hi Lenny,
A glassy version of the current dark feather would be sweet!
I'm excited to see what you can come up with...
I’m ecstatic

Do you mean the rubberducky feather or my own sparkle? -
Inappropriate?@GeekShadow: I've not had a chance to give them ago on my home machine yet, but I will tonight. I'll get some screenies up after that.

Inappropriate?Sweet! Can't wait to have a look :D
If you need any help at all don't hesitate to ask, I'd be happy to help on this one.

Inappropriate?Okay, I've tried the two suggestions from GeekShadow. Flyerfox won't work on Songbird 0.61. The second one, NativeBird, looks like a standard application window now with an iTunes type feel. Not quite what I was meaning, but a step in the right direction. I've attached a screenshot of how it looks on my machine.

Now, using my rudimentary Photoshop skills, I've created a rough mockup of how I see the final look turning out, using the colour scheme specified by Vista, rather than one tied directly to the feather. Let me know your thoughts on that.

Inappropriate?I can do that. no problems, except one.... I've got to make the feather fit with all screens, but I think I'll be able to manage :P
Give me some time and you'll get a result. at least I hope so because that looks nice! -
Inappropriate?@Lenny: I'm exited, too! I've tried to get parts of the main-application transparent some days ago, but i didn't got chance... I'm very interested on how you will do this :-) Keep us up to date!
I’m excited
