Songbird won't playback (errors in console)
Sometimes Songbird will simply refuse to continue to play music. I can double click on a song, hit play etc. but nothing works. The little speaker icon sits next to the song in the playlist but nothing shows up in the status bar. Occasionally some files will play, but I can't find a pattern in what does vs. what doesn't. My assumption was filetypes but various M4A, MP3, FLAC, OGG, WMA files just don't play. No restrictions management is in place on the files, which all play fine out of aTunes or another player.
The following error displays in the error console:
Error: 2152857618
Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Songbird/components/sbPlaylistPlayback.js
Line: 1182
I am on 64-bit Vista, SP1.

Inappropriate? What Songbird version do you have?
When this happens in Songbird, can you play the same files using any other player?
Can you also check Volume mixer on your machine, to make sure it's not muted. -
Inappropriate?I have the same exact problem. All my songs will play in windows media player but no longer in songbird (they did when i installed it for the first time). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't work. Quite unfortunate since I wanted to use songbird as an itunes alternative.

Inappropriate?@Matt
What version of Songbird do you use?
Your files won't play at all since the stopped playing?
Any specific file types?
Is that Vista or XP?
Did you try to check you main Volume mixer to make sure it's not mute? -
Inappropriate? In a way, the same thing happens to me. I'm running Songbird 0.7.0 in OSX 10.5.4 on a MacBook Pro.
When I select a song to play in Songbird after logging in, no audio comes out. The little speaker shows up next to the song, and the song display pane shows that the song is playing, (The bar begins to move across the screen) But I can't hear anything. It's not the volume, because before opening Songbird I checked my mail, and I heard the little "ding" that alerts me that I have new messages.
The odd thing is that if I quit Songbird, then reopen it and play a song, everything works fine. It's just an inconvenience that I have to open Songbird twice to get my music to play. -
Inappropriate?0.7.0, on windows. As I mentioned the files do play within other media players.
Creating a new profile with songbird -p has solved the issue thought I'm not sure for how long. If I didn't delete the profile (I honestly can't remember if I did and I am not on that computer at the moment) I will be happy to run tests or pull out other logs if I need to. -

Im running vista 64bit sp1. Im using the newest version of songbird. Songbird is not muted and the volume is all the way up. Songs will play in windows media player. (all songs are in standard MP3 format). -
Inappropriate?@Matt
Looks like creating a new profile solved the probelm for DittoBox.
You can start Songbird with Profile Manager by going to Programs - Songbird - Songbird (Profile Manager) and create a new profile.
See if your sound issue is fixed and let us know. -
Inappropriate? It won't play for me at all either. I'm also on the latest version of 10.5 on a MacBook Pro. Could it be something with the last software update Apple sent?
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Phooey. I installed Songbird 1.0, ran the Profile Manager under Vista sp 1 and can't hear anything. My volume is working fine. (Just watched a movie, hear other Windows sounds.)
I’m sad too.

Inappropriate?Yeah. I'm having this issue with 1.0, although it only seems to be 1 album. I'll be honest though, with the amount of music I have, it would take days to check it all. I'm using XP SP3. I tried to create a new profile, but nothing doing on that front.
I’m frustrated
